The Western Bank in Luxor is the western part of the river that contains many important archaeological sites. The Western Bar is famous for being the site of a number of temples and royal tombs dating back to Pharaonic times, including the Valley of the Kings, which includes the tombs of pharaohs such as Tutankhamun's tomb, as well as the Valley of the Queens, where many queens and princesses were buried. The western mainland also contains important temples such as the Deir el-Bahri temple, which was built to honor Queen Hatshepsut. This area is one of the most important tourist attractions in Luxor, and is a focal point for understanding the history of ancient Egypt.

The Valley of the Kings is one of Egypt's most famous archaeological sites, located on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor (ancient Thebes). It served as the royal burial ground for pharaohs and high-ranking nobles during the New Kingdom (around 1550 BCE to 1070 BCE), a period considered one of the most prosperous in ancient Egyptian history.

The Colossi of Memnon are two massive statues located on the west bank of the Nile River, near Luxor, Egypt, and are among the most famous landmarks of ancient Egyptian architecture. These statues are the remnants of a larger temple complex dedicated to Amenhotep III, a pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty who ruled from around 1386 to 1353 BCE.

The Temple of Hatshepsut (also known as the Deir el-Bahari Temple) is one of ancient Egypt's most remarkable and architecturally impressive monuments. Located on the west bank of the Nile, near Luxor, the temple was built during the New Kingdom period (around 1479–1458 BCE) in the 18th Dynasty, during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s few female pharaohs.
